Our sincerest apologies to all of you whose schedules have been thrown around by our delivery truck breaking down. A short recap of our situation. A little over a week ago the truck broke down, the piston was blown, so our mechanic ordered the parts, the parts were delayed a couple days, but realizing the situation we were in, when they came, our mechanic worked through the night and into the yesterday morning and got the problem taken care of. So Dad and I picked it up, loaded the delivery truck that we had rented for a few days from our friends at Pequea onto the trailer, and headed to Lancaster. About 5 minutes down the road, the truck started vibrating and carrying on, so we pulled off and called our mechanic, fuel injector was shot. We had to take Pequea's truck back that day, so once again we're sitting without a truck. Our mechanic fixed the problem last night, took it for a test run, and it was running great. So Henry picked it up this morning, only to have it break down again! Fuel injector #2 was bad. So once again we took it back to the mechanic, and that's where it sits right now. We are trying to keep our sanity as we shuffle the schedule once again and hope and pray that the truck will be good to go for the next 20 years at least when it comes out of the shop. :-/ Thanks for your patience. For those of you that are interested, it's a Dodge Cummins 3500. No hard feelings toward the truck...yet.

Hello everybody!
Well, fall is just around the corner, and with it comes new projects, an increase of furnace sales, and cooler weather. We are also currently building a new office for our Sales Lot in Mifflintown, PA. Here are a couple pictures of the progress.

We also opened a lot in Belleville, PA earlier this year. Here are a couple of pictures:

We are also going to be at the Juniata County Fair from Sept. 1-8. So stop by, and check out the buildings we have on display there, and also the specials we will be running.
Have a good month!

We've recently discovered that an extra 10 minute procedure we've been putting into each of our sheds and garages, is now being overlooked by most storage shed builders! Here's the scoop. When we put our Dura-Temp Wood siding on our sheds, we set our nailers to a little high, keeping the nails heads from going into the siding, creating a way for moisture to get in. we go over it and make sure that all the nails are either hammered in (if they're to high) or caulk them (if they're sunken). Unfortunately, we have been seeing more and more shed builders skip this step all together. So when buying a shed, be sure to check for sunken nails. This also voids the siding warranty.

HE-2100 Outdoor Wood Furnace 10,000 sq. ft. $7,295

Hello all,
I know it's a little late, but welcome 2012!
Good news about our Hawken Energy Outdoor Wood Furnaces! Remember the new EPA Law that was put into effect on May 31st 2011? Well if you don't, here's how it goes: A new law was put into effect on May 31st 2011 stating that all Outdoor Wood Burners sold after May 31st was required to have a Gasification Unit in it. The Gasification Unit burns the smoke at temps of up to 2,000 Degrees Farenheit, and then sends it through a network of tubes, which clean the smoke out some more, and then sends it out the chimney. Unfortunately it is more maintanence and more money. BUT. We recently discovered that the new law applies only for furnaces under 350,000 BTU, and our HE-2100 Unit puts out 358,000 BTU! So we can still sell our larger conventional units! (they heat up to 10,000 sq. ft.) So if you're looking to buy an Outdoor Wood Furnace, but don't want the complications of a Gasification Unit, then give us a holler, and we'll be happy to help you out. The crazy thing is, our EPA Approved GX10 Model is Regularly $8,975.00 and only heats up to 3,500 sq.ft. while our HE-2100 Conventional Unit is $7,295.00 and heats up to 10,000 sq.ft.! So even if you don't have the sq. footage to heat, I would still recommend the HE-2100, simply because, #1 The Price is less #2 It heats more #3 If you are looking to put up a shop in the near future, you can just run a second line to that, and heat that as well! So give us a call, or go to our website Hawken Energy Outdoor Wood Furnaces  or check out Hawken Energy's YouTube Channel

Fall Open House

Hello all,
Well it seems as if winter is coming up on us faster than we would like to admit. And with that comes our annual Fall Open House. This year we are having it at our Port Royal Sales Lot, November 7-12. We will have a variety of Sales and Specials, especially on our Storage Sheds, and Outdoor Wood Stoves. We are really excited about the all new EPA Approved Hawken Energy GX10 Outdoor Wood Stove, set to come out in November. The cool thing about this stove, is that when you buy it, you not only get a $300 Tax Rebate, but you also get a $2,500.00 Instant Rebate along with it. This makes it one of the lowest prices EPA approved Outdoor Wood Stoves on the Market. For more information, go to We are also looking for ideas in how you would like to save, so if you have any, please comment below, and we will consider adding them to our list.  Thanks and have a great month, Matt (717) 436-5591
